Advantages of Smoking: Go ahead and smoke

There was this woman who used to constantly blame her husband for spending money on useless things and husband used to claim that he spends money very judiciously. He challenged her to give one example wherein she can conclusively prove that money spent on buying certain thing was total waste. The woman promptly answered, “See this fire extinguisher hanging on the wall, we have not used it even once since we got married”. In the same manner, if you are good smoker then your health insurance premium will prove to be money well spent.
Apart from this there are many more great advantages of regular smoking.
1.       You will never be required to pay all life insurance premiums. Your relatives will get your ‘Life Sum Insured’ much earlier.
2.       You will never get old age diseases like Parkinson’s, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s or cataract, as you will never reach that stage of life.
3.       You will never need breath fresheners or mouth fresheners as your breath will always smell of tobacco.
4.       You will save money which other people spend on fitness regimes, gymnasiums or on buying jogging/ running sneakers.
5.       You will not be joining that stupid car-pool as nobody will travel in your car which will be always smelling of tobacco.
6.       You do not have to worry about interest on your savings as you will spend good portion of your earnings on smoking and fighting diseases caused because of smoking.
7.       Your children also will be happy as they will not have to look after old and aged parents. If you are really dedicated smoker,  then you can even help your children in becoming independent and self reliant at very early age.
8.       You shall never experience trauma losing your spouse. It hardly matters to you if your spouse is forced to live lonely life.
9.       You will always find some chain smoker friend who suffers from no health problems in spite of smoking for ‘40’ years. This will strengthen your faith in GOD.
10.   And most importantly, when you get dreadful life endangering disease like Cancer, you will have very clear answer to question “WHY ME?”

New Myanmar and India

British PM, US secretary of States, Chinese delegations, South Korean government trade delegation, Malaysian PM’s 50 top officials, 21 Thailand top companies’ delegation to Myanmar and so many other news show that ‘All Roads Lead to Myanmar’. All these countries and many more from all around the globe have suddenly renewed interest in improving trade relations with Myanmar. This is mainly because they all have noticed the emergence of true democracy in Myanmar and all those countries recognize geographical importance and business potential of Myanmar.
Indian government is also not far behind, but they should do so with much harder push. Traditionally and historically, Myanmar feels closer to India than any other nation. Buddhism is the strongest link between two nations. National epic of Myanmar ‘Yama Zatdaw’ is adaptation of Ramayana.  Land connection between North East States, i.e. Seven Sister States of India and Myanmar is of immense importance more to India than to Myanmar.  If the road link between these states and Myanmar is established at various points, then it would automatically lead to the development of Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. For a long time, there has been a talk about reopening of Stilwell Road, connecting Myanmar and India. China and Thailand already have good road links with Myanmar.
India mainly imports pulses and wood products from Myanmar and India’s main export is meat and Pharmaceuticals. The total trade is around 1.5 Billion $. India is capable of investing in agriculture, cattle and poultry farming, Engineering, mining, construction and power generation. It is the best time for India to enter into these sectors in Myanmar.  Myanmar also has good potential as buyer of weapons and military hardware and the country has been giving preference to India over western nations. Two nations must find means of trading without dependence on US$, Euro or Singapore $, as it is at present.
Myanmar population is nearly 60 million and GDP is $ 43 billion and nearly 3% annual growth rate. Myanmar produces very high quality sapphires, pearls, Jades and Rubies. Myanmar has huge deposits of natural gas, so much so that India is going to invest in construction of gas pipe lines between two nations.
The well established land link and good road transport infrastructure will open the avenues for trade with entire Southeast Asia having combined population of   60crs and GDP $24000Crs.  This opportunity must be grabbed with both hands.
40 years ago, India was instrumental for birth of a nation called Bangladesh. Today, India contributes only 12% of total Imports by Bangladesh and India has somewhat strained relations with Bangladesh. In any case, India must show great political will and acumen so that this emerging democracy can become very good friend, neighbor and trade partner.

Son, Can you help me Sit Up??

I answer to this call from my ‘80’ year old mother 4-5 times a day. At age of 80, she has very sharp brain and mind trapped inside her weak, old body.  When we sit with her and talk even today, she is a source of wisdom and advice gained by her, in past so many decades. She would recite prayers with such devotion that just by listening to those we feel that we are protected from evil and misfortune.  She would tell us different incidences in her life which teach us a lot of things. It has been always pleasure to be with this old lady and to share thoughts, to learn a thing or two and to laugh.

At the same time, looking after an old person is not an easy job. Though there is sense of love, belonging and duty in everything that you do for the elders in your family, it is not an easy task. This is more so if the aged person is not physically fit and is suffering from various health problems. The old person might find simple physical activities like sitting, walking or even turning in the bed very painful. He or she might need assistance to carry out normal body functions. Such person has, most of the times, lost interest in life and seldom gets truly happy smile on face.  And as a close relative, you want to do everything to make this old person happy, comfortable and involved in life. It is a tough call. You are fighting a lost battle but you have to fight on. You want to know the end point of the struggle but you try hard to keep the end point as farthest as possible, and at the same time, sometimes you pray to Almighty that let the end come sooner than later so that agony of your loved one ends.  It is not easy, it takes toll on your mind and health but one has to stick to the job and do one’s part honestly and with dedication.
At the same time, I thank God, that I am there, I am able, I am around , to answer my mother when she says , “ Son, Can you Help me Sit Up??.  I know a person living in ‘2’ bedroom 700 sq. ft flat in Mumbai. The person has a big pet dog. The pet dog is like his family member and is very well looked after, but that man’s father, a retired Indian army man died in old people’s home. I have friends living in US, Europe and earning big salaries which they multiply by 50 or 70 and are very proud of themselves for being very successful in Indian Rupee term.  They do look after their parents’ financial needs, but at an advanced age, money is the last thing old people are bothered about. At times, these NRIs also arrange for 24 X 7 maids for helping their parents, but they conveniently do blind eye to the fact that love cannot be hired. Some of them are happy with the fact that they have other siblings to look after their parents.  Of all the alternatives, this of course, is the best situation. However, for old people, one son or daughter cannot be substituted by another one.
Over a stretch of life that I have lived, I have learned the true meaning of a famous quote by Antoine de Saint Exupery, “There is no pleasure except in human relations”.  Family, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters form a tight well-protected circle. These bonds are like forces which keep you tied to the center of your very own universe. In reality, all that matters in life is one’s own universe.  There are people who sever these forces and throw themselves in unending open space. They shoot outwards and call it progress. In process, they lose connection with the center of their universe and call it progress until such time in the evening of their lives when they realize that it was not progress but directionless wandering.
I say, be there to answer when your beloved mother or father asks, “Son, can you help me sit up?”

Vascular Disease & Two-Arm Blood Pressure Difference

Most of us have electronic blood pressure instrument at home and we do measure our B.P. as and when we feel to confirm that there is no problem.  As per current studies difference between two arm blood pressure readings indicate narrowing and hardening of arteries.
The first study, which was published in The Lancet, suggested that a difference of more than 10mmHg or 15mmHg in systolic blood pressure (the 'top' reading) was an indicator of increased risk of vascular disease and mortality.
The second study, which was published on the 20th March 2012 by the British Medical Journal (BMJ Online) looks at data from patients over a 10-year period. The findings of the study support that of the first -- that there is a link between a difference in blood pressure between arms and vascular disease and mortality -- and further emphasize the need for two-arm blood pressure checks to become the norm.

Why Am I Happy??

Things happen in life. Life is essentially chain of incidences. We do not take notice of most of these and take them for granted. We carry on with our lives as if it does not matter whatever way these incidences take place. Though, such is far from being true.
I remember an inconspicuous day in my life. The day started like a normal day and went on like any other day and ended that way. That night, while lying in the bed, I realized that though it was just like any other day, throughout the day I was feeling happy, energetic and alive. I started analyzing the sequence of events of that day.  Nothing special had occurred on that day and still I felt very happy.  When I was about to give up my efforts to find out the reason behind my being so happy, it suddenly struck me. There is this flowering plant in my garden. It is there for so many years. It has never grown beyond certain height and had never flowered. But today morning on my way out, I saw that there was this lovely flower on that tree. I knew why I was happy.

Our life is like that. We have happiness all around us. We have to recognize, we have to spot the things that make us happy.  Happiness which we get from small things is always unadulterated and never at the cost of somebody's loss.
Happiness out of victory is based on the fact that somebody else is defeated. Buying big new car or new house makes you happy, but this happiness is likely to have one side which is meant to show the world, "I am better than you". Wining tennis match or any race is likely to become more pleasant when you know you are better than so many others. We all run, toil and struggle to achieve things, have various possessions thinking that we will be happy when we will get what we so desperately desire.  This does not give pure happiness. This happiness comes at price and is invariably transient.
Happiness in small little things comes without payment. All that you need to do is open your eyes and mind to notice these things.

100% sure way of making big money on share market

Trading in share market can be very tricky and more often than not, one is doomed to lose money.
But
There is 100% guaranteed method to make big money on share market
If
You have unlimited money to begin with.
Imagine following situation
(1)You have bought particular share worth 100X, and the share falls down by 10% to 90X
(2) At 90Xyou buy 2 more shares, so now you have 3 shares of value 90 for investment of 280 and the same share loses further 10% of its value. At this point you buy 4 more shares. Now your investment is (81 X 4) +280 = 604.  This means you have 7 shares each of value 81 = 567X for investment of 604X.
(3) There is further drop of 10% and you buy 8 shares @72.9. Your investment is (72.9 X 8) + 604=1187.2 and value of your shares is 72.9 X 15 = 1093.5
(4) At next drop of 10% you buy 16 shares @ 65.61. Your investment is (65.61 X 16) + 1093.5=2143.26 and face value of your shares is 2033.91
(5) Then 32 shares @ 59.05 . Meaning (59.05 X 32) + 2033.91=3923.51invetment for 3720.15 share value
(6) Next is 64 share @53.15. Meaning (53.15 X 64) + 3923.51=7325.11 investment for 6750.05 value.
By any natural law, the share which falls like this , on one fine day bounces back by at least 15 to 20 % from lowest point.
In above mentioned situation, imagine share rising by 20 % from 53.15. In such case you will have 131 shares @ 63.78 making aggregate value of 8355.18 on investment of 6750.05. Investment is of 6750.05X100= 675000 and return of 8355.18 X 100= 835500
This is not joke. This is very practical way of doing it. Deal in prime shares. Start with small quantity, so that you can be in profit even after ‘7’ doubling.
Instead of 10% fall keep smaller levels like 3 or 4 % fall. Never book loss and never exit till you get percentage profit you have planned, always exit when target is achieved and you will definitely make money.
This is the only way of making money in share market.  If you think, studying graphs, trends, listening to Pundits on TV etc. can help you in making money in share market, then you are in for getting rude shock.
For your satisfaction, study 1 year graph for any of the ‘Top 50’company which is losing its share value. You will always see, at certain point of time the share value of that company jumps by 20% or more, for short period.
I am writing this backed with experience, though I start with very small amount and stop doubling after a certain stage and then wait till I am in profit.
